Taron Egerton may have played a tough guy in his lead role in the “Kingsman” franchise, but we’re told the actor seemed “really overwhelmed” at the premiere of his Elton John biopic, “Rocketman.”

First, the British star was in tears as the audience at the Cannes Film Festival screening rose to give the movie a standing ovation on Thursday.

We’re told Egerton “seemed really overwhelmed at the after-party,” too.

According to a spy, “He seemed sort of awestruck, taking it all in.”

At the screening, after the credits rolled, Egerton performed the film’s titular song onstage with Sir Elton himself.

John told the crowd: “Thank you to everyone for making my life come to the screen. Even if the movie doesn’t make one penny at the box office, which will kill [Paramount boss] Jim Gianopulos, it is the movie I wanted to make.”

The rock legend added, “And that is sometimes a rare thing. I will never tire of watching it, and I will never tire of the performances by everybody in the cast.”

He also paid tribute to his longtime songwriting partner Bernie Taupin, saying, “I love him more now than I ever did.”
