A COUPLE who appeared on the Jeremy Kyle Show weeks before it was axed have gone missing with their newborn baby.

Kayleigh Jones, 28, was heavily pregnant when she vanished from her home with her partner Austin Edwards, 33, on June 14.

Cops now believe she has given birth to a baby boy and have launched a frantic hunt for the couple – saying they are "extremely concerned" for the tot's welfare.

The couple appeared on the ITV show in April – with sobbing Kayleigh revealing how Austin had been abusing her both physically and mentally.

Kyle horrified viewers when he tried to comfort her with a plate of biscuits as she told how her drug-addicted partner told her what to wear and when to go to bed.

The chat show host asked: "D'ya want a biscuit? I've got Wagon Wheels, Jammy Dodgers or Oreos?"

Chilling story of abuse – how sobbing Kayleigh revealed her pain on Jeremy Kyle show

KAYLEIGH appeared on the show in April – a month before it was axed – to tell how boyfriend Austin had been abusing her both physically and mentally.

The emotional episode saw the 28-year-old break down as she revealed he had hit her just a few days before and said his behaviour meant all their kids had been put in care.

Weeping, she said: "He tells me when to go to bed, when to wake up, what to wear."

Brave Kayleigh also revealed Austin's behaviour would get worse when he couldn't get his hands on any drugs – as she told Kyle how he had "punched her to pieces" so hard she needed an X-ray after one of their children was born.

Comforted by her mum and sister, Kayleigh admitted she was too scared to leave Austin for fear of what he might do.

Her family begged: "Get away from him before he kills you."

Her mum also revealed a friend had told her that Austin's plan was to get Kayleigh pregnant every year so that she couldn't get another boyfriend.

It was then that Kyle tried comforting sobbing Kayleigh with a plate of biscuits, which she declined.

Their appearance came just weeks before the death of guest Steven Dymond, 63, on May 9.

He is believed to have taken a fatal overdose after failing a love-cheat lie detector test on the show – with pals fearing he took his own life.

ITV axed the Jeremy Kyle Show in the wake of Steven's death, with the broadcaster now asking for more time to investigate.

Kyle, on a £2million-a-year ITV contract, spoke out over Steven’s death, saying: "Myself and the production team are utterly devastated."

The couple are from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, but were spotted in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire over the weekend.

Police have described Kayleigh as 5ft 5ins tall with a medium build and shoulder-length brown hair.

Austin is described as being 5ft 11ins, with a slim build and has short brown hair.

Officers are urgently asking the couple to make contact and have asked anyone who sees them to call 101.

The Jeremy Kyle Show has been running on ITV since July 2005 with 16 seasons airing on a daytime schedule.

It often leads viewers divided with some questioning whether Jeremy Kyle helps his guests or subjects them to ridicule.

The presenter signed a new three-year contract with ITV worth a reported £2million a year in 2014, making him one of the country's highest-earning daytime hosts.
