When is Lucifer season five part two being released on Netflix?
The process of shooting and editing the series was severely delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring fans had a much lengthier wait for the hit-show than first thought.
But courtesy of an update via Lucifer's official Netflix page, fans have finally been informed of when they can get their next action fix.
Season five part two will drop on Netflix for worldwide release on May 28.
What is Lucifer season five part two about?
The final episode of season five part one saw an epic battle between Lucifer and Maze, as well as Amenadiel fighting Michael (Lucifer’s twin brother) – the new villain of the series.
The fight is cut short when God shouts 'that’s enough children, you know I hate it when you fight' from the top of the stairs, leaving the credits to roll.
The Lucifer Twitter account teased a cryptic clue about what we can expect from season five in November 2020, which read: "When could the release date of 5B possibly be?
"We can’t reveal that but what we can reveal [is]: get ready for ***’s extended stay on *****."
Many fans interpreted this as 'God’s extended stay on Earth'.
Some have theorised that if the series sticks to its comic book origins, it could eventually lead to the creation of the DC Universe.
Production bosses have teased the series will be the most emotional yet.
Who's in the Lucifer season five part two cast?
The latest chapter in Lucifer's story will see a host of star-studded guest appearances.
Dennis Haysbert will continue his role as God after appearing at the end of the final episode of part one.
Alison McAtee – known for her work on Californication – will guest star as Elizabeth Newman late in the series during episode 14.
Catherine Dent, of the early noughties series The Shield, will appear solely in the musical episode as Dr Alice Porter.
And according to Netflix Life, Friday Night Lights star Scott Porter will feature in an unnamed recurring role.
