The Walking Dead season 10 will draw to an eventual close this year as AMC announced plans for the finale to air at a later date. The series was edging towards its inevitably dramatic close when the coronavirus pandemic brought a halt to productions around the world, including TWD. With the finishing touches being added remotely, fans will get to see the return of Maggie (played by Lauren Cohan) and the fate of Beta (Ryan Hurst) at some point in 2020.

And it is the fate of Whisperer Beta which has been dominating conversation ever since the action-packed 15th episode.

Beta has been a man on a mission ever since his beloved leader Alpha (Samantha Morton) was killed by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) earlier in the season.

Already clearly unhinged, Beta’s questionable and murderous behaviour deteriorated even further as he headed off solo on a one-man mission to avenge her death.

Accompanied by Alpha’s decapitated head, Beta abandoned his army of Whisperers as he plotted his attack.

He ended up using the Alpha’s flesh to construct a new look, menacing mask and lured a hoard of Walkers to join him.

The last fans saw of Beta, he was heading towards the likes of Daryl (Norman Reedus) and co with the army of the dead, setting up a tantalising season 10 finale.

Now, as theories and spoilers continue to circulate the web, Alden star Callen McAullife has dropped a major hint at Beta’s fate.

Alden remains alive and ready for battle and recently took to Twitter to tease what’s in store.

The actor was replying to a TWD fan who’d made their own promo poster art for the finale.

The fan captioned the picture: “Will Beta die in the season 10 finale? Who will be the one to take him down? And will he take anyone with him on his way out? #TWD #TheWalkingDead.”

In the picture, Beta was Aaron (Ross Marquand) in a chokehold with a knife held against his neck.

However, in the background, Alden could be seen running to his cohort’s aide.

Replying to the picture, Callan commented: “Woah this is a pretty tasty picture.”

It didn’t take long for fans to flood the replies section as to what Callan’s tweet could mean.

One fan replied: “Tasty in what way mister? In the hahaha this is exactly what happens? Is Aaron okay? Is Alden okay?”

A second added: “I keep seeing this photo. Does it mean Aaron takes Beta out? I think Aaron’s tough guy status from 100 to 10,000.”
