The Chase saw three contestants knocked out by Anne Hegerty after their cash builder rounds, leaving only one player, Josh, in contention to win the jackpot in today’s instalment, as the host was vocal about how difficult today’s questions were. 

As only one player managed to make it through to the Final Chase in today’s episode, as the contestants were faced with a number of difficult questions this evening.

Contestants Josh, Orchid, Steve and Coralie took on The Chaser this evening, but they had a hard time in today’s episode, after a string of obscure questions.

Host Bradley Walsh was quick to make a remark on how tough he felt today’s questions were.

“I don’t know about you lot, but that’s the only one out of the first four questions I’ve known, I think they’re tough today.”

In another question posed to player Josh, it was asked which section of The Washington Post would rate the truth of claims made by public figures. 

As the answer was a Pinocchio test, Bradley made another comment about the questions. 

“I thought that was a joke answer, I would’ve been out ages ago,” Bradley confessed.

It seems he wasn’t wrong, as the contestants today struggled with as they came face to face with The Governess. 

Orchid, Steve and Coralie all found themselves knocked out after taking Anne on, and viewers also felt today’s questions were difficult.

One shared: “What is with these questions on #TheChase tonight!??? Hard as hell!” 

“Man, these questions on tonight’s #TheChase are brutally hard!!!! I’d have definitely been out,” commented another.  

After an impressive Final Chase from solo player Josh, in which he managed 15 steps, Anne was back to have her go.

Unfortunately, Josh was caught with just under a minute remaining, as The Chaser seemed on form in today’s episode. 

Viewers were impressed with his performance in today’s episode, as his score was impressive despite being on his own in the final round. 

“Good effort for a single player, I’ve seen worse scores with full teams, bad luck Josh #thechase.”

“Blimey Josh that was a cracking single player effort #thechase,” echoed another impressed viewer.

“#TheChase 15 is a good score for one player,” said a third. 

Bradley was quick to commend the player, after his earlier remarks about today’s tricky questions.

He said: “Caught with 43 seconds remaining, that is probably at that rate probably 26 questions… I’ve got to say for a single player, great effort.”

After yesterday’s episode in which two players managed to win the jackpot, will tomorrow’s competitors have more luck?

The Chase continues tomorrow at 5pm on ITV.
