Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) loses her temper with daughter Charli in upcoming EastEnders scenes as she starts to worry that she’s too young to be a mother.

The 13-year-old welcomed a baby girl, named after Charli XCX and not the iconic uncle Charlie, last month while stalker Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) held her mum Stacey (Lacey Turner) captive in the kitchen.

The subsequent weeks have proven incredibly difficult for the Slater clan, with Lily struggling to adjust to becoming a mum, especially when Stacey was questioning her every move.

After some advice from Jean (Gillian Wright), Stacey decided to let up on Lily, agreeing to let her make her own decisions and mistakes, vowing to be by her side should she need it.

Lily, however, was secretly concerned that she wasn’t cut out to be a mum, believing that Charli preferred Stacey’s company to her own, a theory which Jean was quick to shoot down.

The teen’s worries, however, come to the forefront again next week, after a Slater family dinner at Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) proves difficult.

With Charli crying throughout the meal, Lily loses her temper with her daughter, before having a full-blown meltdown over her ability to be a mum, storming out.

Kat rushes after her and, upon locating her, the two have a heart-to-heart, with the former opening up about her own experiences with Zoe (Michelle Ryan).

Lily reiterates her concerns about being too young for this, but Kat insists that, with Stacey by her side, she can and will be a great mum.

Has Kat’s advice assuaged Lily of her doubts?

Apparently not, with subsequent scenes making it quite clear that Lily still isn’t convinced of her ability to be a good mum.
