REAL Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore's ex-boyfriend Matt Jordan has been charged by police in connection with accusations he punched his new girlfriend.

The former star was charged with one count of assault and two counts of disorderly conduct after allegedly hitting Valerie Bell in the face outside a Denny's restaurant in Arizona, according to TMZ.

He is accused of hitting Bell on July 27.

A witness said Jordan invaded her personal space and took away a packet of cigarettes she was holding, which resulted in one of the disorderly charges, says TMZ.

When police arrived to the parking lot, Jordan had already left. He was later arrested when he tried to make contact with Bell at home and she called the police.

He faces a maximum of 18 months in jail if convicted of all charges.

Kenya Moore was granted a one-year restraining order against her ex boyfriend Matt Jordan in 2017.

A judge ruled that Matt must stay at least 200 yards away from Kenya and her new family, according to TMZ.

She was granted a temporary restraining order, but it ended in April of that year when she didn't turn up to court.

The star explained to the showbiz site that she'd been unable to find Matt to serve him.

The pair split in 2017, after which Kenya accused Matt of calling her "up to 30 times a day between September and February, even after blocking his number", she told the court.

Kenya went on to wed Marc Daly in June 2017 in a beachside ceremony in St Lucia.

The pair – who are parents to one-year-old Brooklyn Doris – split in September.
