Love Island 2019 finally kicked off tonight, with a new batch of sexy singles entering the revamped villa.

The first couples of the year were revealed, with surfer chick Lucie Donlan ending up with curly-haired Joe Garratt.

She was first coupled up with hunky firefighter Michael Griffiths, but Joe stole her from the Liverpudlian lad.

And while she seems to be highly prized inside the villa, viewers at home are already sick of her – or at least her catchphrase.

Lucie has been using the words “bev” and “bevy” constantly – but not in the way you might think.

She describes attractive men as “bevy”, while the guy she’s coupled up with as her “bev”.

Fans rushed to Twitter to complain, with one saying: “‘Bevy’ Your guy is bevy. That outfit is bevy. Shut up will ya?”

“Can we as a nation agree to vote Lucie out straight away please”

Another joked: “Lucie, bevy is as likely to catch on as fetch. Let’s move on now hun.”

A third tweeted: “Can we as a nation agree to vote Lucie out straight away please I can’t listen to her saying these ridiculous made up words for the next few months.”

And a fourth added: “Lucie I will get my arm bitten off by a shark before I use bevy.”

Elsewhere, viewers noticed another catchphrase that kept cropping up a lot – “it is what it is”.

Sherif Lanre said it after Amber Gill was stolen from him by Callum Macleod during the first coupling of the series.

But which one will be the first to be printed on a Primark t-shirt?

Love Island continues nightly at 9pm on ITV2.
