Love Island fans have slammed the 'cruel' treatment of Amy Hart after her heartbreaking confession.

Some viewers claimed they were refusing to watch any more as Amy revealed she had fallen in love with Curtis Pritchard.

Amy admitted it had been "gut-wrenching" being away from the professional ballroom dancer and was her best friend and half-boyfriend rolled unto one.

This happened just minutes after viewers had watched Curtis get pied by Jourdan Riane after revealing he would rather recouple with the new girl.

There was a lot of hatred for Curtis and show bosses on social media for putting Amy through such an ordeal.

Taking to Twitter , one viewer said: "Oh no I don’t think I can watch. So many peoples feelings are going to get hurt. My heart can’t take it. Even if you don’t like the person watching people suffer is just so cruel and awful to watch. It’s not funny at all. It’s unkind."

Another added: "Amy talking about falling in love with Curtis. My heart. Is crushed. I can't. While he lists what he doesn't like about her"

A third said: "My heart absolutely breaks for Amy, like her or not, no one deserves to go through that."

This came after Amy had told Molly-Mae Hague that she had completely fallen for Curtis.

Speaking by the pool, Amy said: "Before I left the villa I had started to have a bit of an inkling I might love Curtis. He’s my absolute favourite person.

"I thought I loved him before I came away. I thought I don't know what love is. Do I just really like him?

"Being here and not being able to contact him has been so gut-wrenching for me. I’m like this is love. It's just crazy. I never thought it would happen to me."

Amy admitted she was having some doubts about telling Curtis that she loved him.

She said: "He’s my half boyfriend and best friend rolled into one. I don't think I’m going to tell him though. I’m happy with my little secret – I love him."

When Molly-Mae asked why she didn't want to tell Curtis, Amy said: "It's not pride, I think it's fear. It's crazy to think I'm in love with someone but even crazier to think someone could be in love with me."

Amy believed that Curtis would also say that she is in love with him, but was unaware of what was going on in the main villa.

Curtis "put his gut on the table" and told Jourdan that his head had been turned by her.

How will Amy react when she finds out the truth?
