THERE's nothing more annoying than going to your secret stash of stolen money to find it's suddenly gone walkies – and unfortunately for Kat Slater, that's exactly what happened to her in last night's episode of EastEnders.

After promising to lend boyfriend Kush Kazemi thousands of pounds, the feisty Slater now has quite the dilemma on her hands. So where has it all gone, or rather, WHO in the Square has taken it?

Determined to help her new lover Kush fund his legal battle to get custody of his son, Arthur, from her cousin Stacey Fowler, Kat decided to turn to her hidden cash stash only to find it had totally vanished.

With most of the Slaters knowing about the money which Kat’s estranged husband Alfie scammed off Walford's hard nut Phil Mitchell, it could easily be any one of them.

So who helped themselves to Kat’s cash? Let’s find out…

It’s not clear who the thief is at first but Kat – who’s played by Jessie Wallace – wastes no time in pointing the finger at relatives Mo and Stacey.

But when she confronts them, she has no luck and is left with no choice but to tell Kush that she can no longer help him out with his legal fees.

When she reaches the market though, Kat overhears a tense conversation between Kush and Stacey’s husband, Martin, and begins to wonder if Martin is responsible for taking the money.

Later in the week, Kat then calls a meeting about the stolen money – sure that Martin is the culprit.

And it's not long before things escalate very quickly, with Stacey – Lacey Turner – defending her husband who denies any knowledge of the money in the first place.

When Stacey realises that Kat planned to use the money to help Kush with Arthur, she’s furious and starts to lose her patience.

The mum of three later finds Kat searching her bedroom for the missing money. So will she find it there?

Who’s money is it anyway?

Technically the money doesn't even belong to Kat in the first place – it belongs to Phil Mitchell.

The cash ended up with Kat after Alfie scammed it from Phil before doing a disappearing act earlier this year.

When Phil realised he’d been had he turned up at the Slaters and told Kat that Alfie’s debt was now her debt. Kat told him to jog on.

She was later stunned to discover that the money was in a wardrobe in her bedroom. Alfie left clues leading her to it and promised he’d be home soon.

Finders keepers and all that.

But since then Kat has started a relationship with Kush. Alfie is due back later this year.
