Love Island 2019 has unveiled its new cast of 12 singletons who are heading into the Mallorcan villa when the ITV2 series starts next week. The Love Island cast includes the likes of scientist Yewande Biala and beauty therapist Amber Gill who will star alongside ballroom dancer Curtis Pritchard. But who is Curtis Pritchard and why may fans recognise the Love Island contestant?
Who is Curtis Pritchard from Love Island 2019?
Curtis Pritchard is a 23-year-old ballroom and Latin dancer from Shropshire.
The Love Island star says he’ll be the perfect islander because he’s “just going to be himself”.
Love Island 2019 viewers may recognise the cast member from his previous on-screen roles.
Pritchard worked as one of the professional dancers on Dancing with the Stars Ireland.
He’s also the brother of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing favourite AJ Pritchard.
Before entering the famous ITV villa, Pritchard spoke out about his decision to join Love Island.
Pritchard told ITV: “The thing that makes me the perfect Love Islander is that I’m just going to be myself.
“I’m going to be me. I don’t have to act like anything, I don’t have to teach anyone how to dance, like my normal job! I can just be myself and have fun.”
The Love Island star also revealed exactly what kind of partner he’s looking for in the villa.
Describing his perfect match, Pritchard said: “I’m sure everyone has their idea of the perfect girl but I don’t.
“This sounds really clichéd but love is blind and I truly do believe that. I like blondes and an athletic body, not too fake and somebody that respects themselves.
“But if the complete opposite comes in and I fall madly in love with them then I’ve completely lied to you. Love is blind.”
The Love Island star also admitted his celebrity crushes were Hollywood actor Megan Fox, global superstar Ariana Grande and Golden Globe-nominee Mila Kunis.
Pritchard also claims he’s “loyal” when it comes to his romantic life but has cheated in the past.
Describing his own looks and chances in the villa, Pritchard said: “I’d rate my looks quite high up on the scale because sometimes people say I’m attractive.
“I’m not going to give you a number because I don’t really know.
“My best feature is my smile. Everyone always compliments me on it.”
Whether Pritchard will find love in the villa will be decided when Love Island 2019 gets underway on Monday, June 3.
Five single ladies are also heading into the villa looking for love with the possibility of matching up with Pritchard.
As mentioned earlier, scientist Biala and beauty therapist Gill are just two of the girls unveiled in the cast.
The three other female Love Island contestants to enter the villa at the beginning are:
- Anna Vasili, 28
- Amy Hart, 26
- Lucie Donlan, 21
Love Island begins at 9pm on Monday, June 3 on ITV2.
