Loose Women has paid a touching tribute to fellow panellist Denise Welch’s late father Vin after she announced his sudden passing on Tuesday evening.
The star shared how heartbroken she was following his death on Instagram after her supportive dad slipped away in the night after battling pulmonary fibrosis and other health issues.
And Denise's fellow presenters on the hit ITV daytime show wanted to honour his death during Wednesday’s programme, as host Christine Lampard took a moment to remember him at the start of the show.
Co-host Gloria Hunniford also shared her best wishes to the family and noted how Vin has always been a part of the "Loose Women family."
Christine opened the show with the sad news and sweet messages of love to Denise during her time of grief.
She told viewers: "We have to send all our love to Denise, who lose her beloved dad Vin last night.
"We all know how close Denise was to her dad and he was very much part of our Loose Women family as well."
She added: "We just wanted to say we are thinking of you Denise and all of your family today."
Gloria chimed in with: "Vin was a very, very special man and Denise shared Vin with us in a way on the programme. It was very special."
Christine continued: "The wonderful stories. He made everyone laugh and like we say, it’s a very tough time Denise and all her family. We’re thinking of you all."
The poignant tribute comes just after the star broke the news on Wednesday with an emotional picture of her holding her dad’s hand online.
She penned: "The words I’ve dreaded saying all of my life. Last night at 11pm, we lost our dad, the life force that was Vin Welch.
"After making a miraculous recovery recently from major surgeries, pneumonia plus his existing pulmonary fibrosis was more than even he could take.
"He left us surrounded by his family who could not have loved anyone more. I can’t quite function as I'm so grief stricken, but I know he meant so much to so many people, even those who’d never met him."
She continued: "I’ve never seen anyone fight to stay longer at a party than dad and last night was no different. He loved life and lived it to the full like no other.
"The nurses in Ward 6 at Durham University Hospital will forever be in our hearts as they gave dad the most peaceful passing anyone could wish for. They adored him and he them.
"Heather, Helen, Lauren, Naz, Chloe, Graham, Debs, to name but a few. We will NEVER forget you. Love you dad. Heartbroken."
