Stella Banderas Griffith is requesting “Griffith” be removed from her last name.

The daughter of Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas, born Stella del Carmen Banderas Griffith, cited the reason for the change as wanting “to shorten my name by removing the extra last name,” according to court documents obtained by Page Six.

“As well, I typically do not use ‘Griffith’ when referring to myself or on documents,” she added in the filing. “So, dropping the name would match my regular use.”

Stella’s name in her Instagram bio also simply reads “Stella Banderas” despite her username being fully “@stellabanderasgriffith.”

She wants her new name to be Stella del Carmen Banderas.

It does not appear there are any issues issues between Stella and the “Working Girl” star; she simply wanted to shorten the name.

Stella, 25, was born in Spain and is bilingual in English and Spanish. She is the half-sister of actors Dakota Johnson and Alexander Bauer.

Griffith, 64, and Banderas, 61, married in 1996 but divorced in 2015.

They’ve remained close friends since their breakup.

Earlier this month, the “Genius” actor and Stella walked the red carpet at the San Sebastián Film Festival, where the two posed as a matching pair in black outfits.

Griffith shared a photo of the duo on Instagram and captioned it, “Father and daughter ♥️♥️♥️ Stella and Antonio on the red carpet at San Sebastion Film Festival. #reunited#family#love.”
