The celebrity chef was back this weekend with his ITV show, James Martin’s Saturday Morning where he welcomed a number of guests to his kitchen. The 49-year-old was joined by guest singer Natalie Imbruglia, while chefs Raymond Blanc and Dipna Anand dropped by to show off their cooking skills. However, just minutes into the show, viewers quickly became distracted by James’ appearance.

While some viewers were loving his colourful blue print shirt with bright pink cuffs, others were less than impressed with his outfit.

Hannah penned: “Loving the ‘wild’ shirt this morning! Woke me up lol.”

“Love the shirt,” Elliott praised as Lynn wrote: “I’m watching! Love the shirt.”

Elizabeth tweeted: “Where is your shirt from…Love it.”

Not all viewers were loving the shirt, with user @AdoptionsUK commenting: “I don’t think the shirt is really you. Love the show though!”

David joked: “@jamesmartinchef are you playing Aladdin in panto later?” (sic)

Joanne added: “@jamesmartinchef James sorry, don’t like the pink cuffs up on your shirt today but have bought a ticket for March Plymouth.” (sic)

“What the hell are you wearing?” Steve asked.

While JB said: “I’m a big fan of @jamesmartinchef however I can’t defend that shirt!”

Orhan simply asked @jamesmartinchef what happened?! Did you lose a bet? #lairyshirt.” (sic)

At the beginning of the programme, James addressed why he was wearing his outfit.

When speaking to chef Dipna, he said: “The reason I am wearing this jacket and shirt is because of your dad.”

“I can see that,” Dipna replied as she joked: “You better be careful, else I might say ‘dad’.”

He also spoke about his colourful shirt as he introduced the programme.

“Hello, morning and welcome to my house,” he began.

“Get the kettle on and make yourself comfy. I love the word comfy as much as I like this shirt.”

He continued: “Over the next two hours you’re in for s real treat.

“You’ve got classic Indian cookery from the chef behind Britain’s best curry house.

“There is classic French cuisine from a true icon of the food world.”

He went on to introduce Torn singer Natalie as he concluded: “She will be swapping Daphne’s Coffee Shop for my kitchen.”
