FOOTBALL legend Ian Wright touched down in Australia this evening – and tried to deny he was taking part in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!.

The former England and Arsenal striker, 56, arrived in Brisbane and joked he was Down Under to see old striking pal Robbie Fowler – who is now head coach of the city's Roar football team.

Ian, who is being paid around £400,000 to take part in the ITV series, said: "I’m here to see Robbie Fowler. I’m doing some training with the Brisbane Roar."

When asked if he could win the show, as he is currently the bookies' favourite to do so, he said that he was actually in the country to play golf.

He added: "Win what? I don’t know how many other players are in the golf tournament.

"All you can do is play your best and hope that you bring the right stuff on the day."

Ian has been warned to control his temper in the jungle by reigning champ Harry Redknapp.

The 72-year-old football manager won the ITV series last year, and had some stern advice for close friend Ian.

Admitting that the pundit is known for throwing his toys out of the pram, Harry reflected on the advice he'd give his pal.

He shared: "I'd tell him: 'Keep calm, Wrighty' – he's got a short fuse."

Speaking at the University of Gloucestershire, Harry continued: "I played golf with him the other day and he threw a bit of a wobbler with another player.

"You have to bite your tongue in the camp, it's hard and you can get tetchy as there is nothing to do."

Harry also worries that Ian could lock horns with rugby star James Haskell, saying: "Wrighty needs to keep quiet with him, he's a tough guy.

"His arms are bigger than my legs."

The comments come after Ian's other celebrity friend, Mark Bright, dropped Ian in it by revealing that he is "scared of everything".

Speaking on Good Morning Britain last week, Mark admitted that he would vote for Ian "to do every task", before dishing: "He’s scared of the dark, he’s scared of everything! He puts the light on…"

Earlier this evening, The Sun Online exclusively revealed the confirmed line-up for this year's series of I'm A Celeb, which kicks off later this month.

Ian and James will be joined by the likes of Caitlyn Jenner, Jacqueline Jossa, and Nadine Coyle.
