Ferne McCann had long been a source of hair inspiration for many of us blondes right up until she surprised us all with a brunette hair transformation back in January 2022. Now, the former TOWIE star is bidding for a place on our summer hair Pinterest boards with a new buttery balayage that looks perfect for the upcoming sunshine season.
The mum-of-one (and soon-to-be two!) shared the results of her trip to the hair salon on her Instagram last night, giving her 2.9 million followers a good look at the before and after of her colour transformation.
“Went for a change,” she teased in the first clip from the hair salon, also tagging in her hairstylist Morgan Graham.
The 32 year old then returned to her Stories with a final look at the colour, explaining that she also decided to go back to her much-loved bob cut. “That balayage baby! Back blonder with the bob and it feels so good,” she wrote.
Ferne goes from a mid-toned bronde shade to a buttery, balayaged blonde. With creamy front sections, lighter ends and neutral roots, the colour is perfect for anyone transitioning from a brunette hue to a blonde.
If you don’t recall when Ferne swapped from being a blonde to being a brunette, it was back at the start of last year, and she travelled straight from the Maldives beaches to a salon chair for a post-trip hair transformation, debuting the results on Instagram.
“It’s officially done, I think it’s safe to say I'm officially a brunette. I'm back to my roots and I’m obsessed,” she captioned the Story post, posing in the short video to give viewers a good look at the colour. Ferne also mentioned that the fresh colour might not have been “obvious” from the video, but that it was much darker in tone in-person.
Clearly being brunette wasn’t more fun for Ferne, but we commend her for lasting over a year with the darker colour – we bet the condition of her hair definitely feels the benefits from steering clear of bleach for so long.
