Queen Mathilde of Belgium, 49, wowed on October 5 as she visited Rhineland-Palatinate. The monarch looked bold in red and a striking accessory.

The Belgian Queen rocked a certain accessory during her latest appearance.

This was a Maison Fabienne Delvigne headband, which appeared to be a new purchase.

It was maroon, with white embroidery, and exactly matched the Queen’s dress.

The UK’s Princess Beatrice is also partial to a headband or a hatband, and these have become somewhat synonymous with her.

However, fashion and royal expert Miranda Holder revealed that Kate Middleton will likely forgo this item as she steps into her role of Queen.

Miranda said: “The more flirtatious fancier accessories such as hatbands will be fully phased out for more imposing hats.”

Nonetheless, the European royal looked striking this Wednesday in her fabulous accessory.

Her dress was the same shade of maroon with similar white, floral embroidery.

This was a bespoke Natan dress, Natan being a Belgium based contemporary womenswear and accessories brand.

It cinched her in at the waist in true 50s style, and boasted quarter-length sleeves.

Over the top of the dress, Queen Mathilde elegantly draped a crisp, white blazer.

This was also from Natan, and was called the Ivana jacket, which she has been pictured wearing before.

On her feet, the royal opted for nude, pointed-toe pumps which appear to be suede.

The stylish Queen paired the ensemble with a Christian Dior bag. This was the C’est Dior Bag in light pink, which she has worn before.

It boasts an envelope flap, embossed with the signature logo in gold, as well as a thin strap.

Royal fans took to Instagram to discuss the Queen’s latest look, however her statement accessory divided opinion.

@rachelhlhannam stated: “This is a gorgeous outfit. Love it.”

@luxemeagainpreloved called the dress, shoes and bag “absolutely gorgeous”, while she also “loved” the headband.

However, @florence.pit commented: “Love this look – maybe the headband is a little too big?”

@ellainthecityboston said: “The style and the colour of the dress are flattering. The headpiece is ageing.”
