Tia Mowry is demonstrating festive hairstyles are still a good idea after the holidays. It's an unspoken "rule" that pearls, glitter, sequins, and rhinestones are reserved for the Christmas and New Year season. And the actress and beauty icon is showing us why outdated beauty rules are meant to be broken.
On Jan. 4, Mowry blessed our Instagram feeds with a close-up look at her Christmas hairstyle: a pearl-embellished side braid. In the photos, she modeled the intricate style, holding the plait between her fingers. The silver beaded strands stuck out longer than the braid, creating a fringed effect, another play on a 2022 hair trend: unknotted braids.
"When your braid has that drip, ✨" she captioned the carousel of photos, in which she wore a light gray turtleneck sweater with gold stacked bracelets.
While Tia's decorated braid was certainly fitting for the season, it doesn't mean you can't wear the look into the new year. As snow adorns the trees and roof tops, allow ice to accent your hair, too. Because just like that no white after Labor Day rule, this kibosh on glitter after the holiday festivities is absolutely obsolete.
Add all the jewels you want to your hair, because over-the-top, accessorized looks are going to be all the rage in 2022. So take a page out of Tia's book and carry that sparkle throughout the year.
