Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has congratulated a new anchor joining the morning news show. She took to social media to share her welcome as her colleague announced their career move.

Posting in front of her 825,000 Twitter followers, the anchor posted in reply to Nitya Gracianna Rajan.

The journalist is joining the show as a news correspondent in the midlands.

They penned earlier today: “Beyond thrilled to say I’ll be joining @GMB as their News Correspondent in the Midlands.

“Can not wait to join the team in July.

“Very thankful to everyone at ITV and ITN who have helped me along the way.”

Following the news, Susanna shared her congratulations to her new colleague.

She replied: “Congratulations and welcome to the team.”

Nitya then responded: “Thank you Susanna! See you soon!!”

Susanna was not the only person to share their well wishes over the news.

Head of UK News Amber de Botton wrote: “Congratulations!”

Whereas Series Director Erron Gordon added: “Welcome to the team! Congratulations.”

“Congrats Nitya,” penned BBC journalist George Bowden over the news.

Susanna is currently joined by broadcaster Richard Madeley in the GMB morning seat.

Since Piers Morgan left the show earlier this year, there have been plenty of presenters stepping into the role.

Some of the regulars have included Adil Ray, Ben Shephard and Ranvir Singh.

Bill Turnbull and Alastair Campbell have also stepped into the broadcasting seat.

According to The Sun, ITV bosses are considering having a second full-time female host to join Susanna.

An insider told the publication: “It is very possible that we will have two women fronting the show.

“Susanna will take the lead, but the job of her co-host is up for grabs, and it will come down to who is most popular with viewers.

“The attitude behind the scenes is there is no rush to find a replacement for Piers this year, the bosses want to make the right choice.”

Elsewhere Piers has been teasing a return to TV as he shared a snap of him on Instagram with his personal trainer.

He penned: “Savage session with The Torturer @roarfitnessgirl at @roarfitnessldn in Kensington, but she assures me I’ll be ripped & emaciated by the time I’m back on TV again.

“Great to see gyms back open again and can’t recommend this place highly enough.. #NoPainNoGain.”
