A SELF-PROCLAIMED ‘crunchy mum’ has revealed that not only does she let her children walk around barefoot, but she also lets them eat sand and sticks too.
Mara, from Texas, US, also known as ‘theamazingmara’, took to social media to share the things that she does with her children that many people don’t agree with.
The mum-of-four posted a two-part series to TikTok as she revealed her controversial parenting style.
In her first video, she said: “Some things I do that others don’t agree with. I could’ve made this video so long lol.

In a part-two video, Mara revealed more things that she lets her children do.
She continued: “Here is part two. I have so many things that I am constantly criticised for.
“Gentle parenting, not spanking kids.
“Don’t force them to hug family members.
“Let my kids eat sticks.
“Letting my son pierce his ears.
“Barefooting even in bathrooms.
“Co-sleeping from birth.
“Breastfeeding until they self wean”.

It has 769.1k likes and 16.2k comments.
In particular, TikTok users were left in shock that this parent lets her children walk around barefoot and also lets them eat sticks.
One person said: “I personally agree with everything but sticks and barefoot. Idk something about being barfoot with fungus, bacteria and potential glass is not it for me”.
Another added: “Yes to everything but like – Ma'am the eating sticks can quite literally cause hygiene issues”.
