Moment bungling burglar knocks over ladder and gets trapped in garden with shovel-wielding homeowner

A bungling burglar got stuck in the garden of a house he was stealing from after knocking over the ladder he used to climb over their fence.
A pair of thieves targeted the house in the suburb of Rafael Castillo in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to steal two gas cylinders but didn’t quite manage to pull off the operation.
CCTV footage showed the two men outside the property during the night, with one of them climbing over the fence to get the cylinders which he handed over to his friend waiting on the other side.

Meanwhile the home owner’s dog started barking as the thieves rushed to complete the task.
However after the second cylinder had been delivered over the fence, the thief that was inside the garden kicked over the ladder leaning against the wall as he tried to climb back over.
The thief then fell to the floor as the homeowner emerged with a shovel after having been woken by the sound of the dog barking.

He began beating him while shouting as the the thief’s accomplice did a runner.
The homeowner said: ‘The dog started barking and I went out to see.
‘There I see one running with the cannister and the other inside.
The thief then fell to the floor as the homeowner emerged with a shovel after having been woken by the sound of the ladder falling over
‘That’s when I grabbed the shovel because I thought he wanted to go into the house.’
Both of the crooks eventually fled and are being hunted by cops.
The gas canisters were found dumped nearby.
