MOTLEY Crue wild man Tommy Lee – featured in an infamous "sex tape" with then-wife Pamela Anderson – is planning to be Prince Harry and Meghan’s new neighbor, The Sun can reveal.

Tattooed rocker Tommy just spent his 58th birthday checking out a $2.3million three-acre plot where it is believed he wants to build his dream home, just a stone’s throw from Meghan and Harry’s $14million home in Montecito, California.

Tommy’s fourth wife, social media star Brittany Furlan, 34, sat in their SUV while the drummer, dressed in a hat, black T-shirt and torn jeans, walked around the plot with a long-haired friend holding a drawing of what a new house could look like.

A local who recognised Tommy said: “He has a crazy past but it’s the most wild thing ever that Tommy Lee is going to be living next to actual royalty.

“Harry and Meghan have to drive past that land whenever they leave their home so who knows, maybe Harry is a rock fan and he’ll stop by.

“Tommy seemed really excited to be checking out the plot, he was swinging his arms around and saying things like, ‘This can go here, that can go there.’

“He was obviously really pumped about living there and what the house is going to be.”

The source added: “I hope Harry and Meghan don’t get upset with the building work that he’s planning.

“There’s going to be a lot of construction work and a lot of trucks coming and going when the house is built.

“It’s only a small road, too, so any work could cause issues.”

The land sits in Montecito’s so-called “Golden Quadrangle” because it is so well located for the area’s schools and other amenities.

It already has permits to build a 5,500 sq ft main house with separate pool house and garage.

Online property websites say plans have already been drawn up to create a “rustic-contemporary masterpiece” on the plot by architects and builders Studio William Hefner but Tommy can change the design if he wants.

On his birthday on Saturday, Tommy drove with Brittany and his son Brandon to Santa Barbara and checked into a five-star hotel.

Brandon stayed at their hotel while Tommy and Brittany went to see their land.

After spending nearly 30 minutes at the plot, the couple headed to a nearby mansion where it is believed was designed by the same architect Tommy is now working with.

Tommy is the latest celeb to follow in Harry and Meghan’s footsteps and relocate to the area.

Meg Ryan recently bought a house there and Glee star Jane Lynch is also a recent addition.

They join A-listers Oprah and Ellen who also have multi-million dollar mansions nearby.

Brandon has now made up with his dad after they had a fall out two years ago.

In 2018, the 24 year old posted video online of Tommy sprawled out wearing just underwear, reportedly after Brandon had knocked him out.

Speaking just a day before visiting the plot, Tommy revealed he was drinking two gallons of vodka a day last year just because he was bored.

The dad of two is now sober but there’s been no let up in his rock star behavior.

Earlier this year he was inked with two new tattoos on his face, some Japanese symbols on his right side and stars on his left side.

Tommy, married four times, has been notorious for his rock and roll lifestyle since hitting the big time with Motley Crue back in the 1980s.

The band’s exploits were recently made into a film by Netflix.

The movie, called The Dirt, is based in a book of the same name which details their alcohol and drug-fuelled dramas as they went from LA hopefuls to one of the world’s biggest bands.

Tommy was married to actress Heather Locklear from 1986 to 1993, then Pamela Anderson from 1995 to 1998. He and Pam wed just four days after they met.

In 1998 he was convicted of attacking her during an argument at their Malibu home and sentenced to six months in jail.

A sex tape featuring the pair was leaked in 1995. Earlier this year Pam said of the recording: 'That was not a sex tape. That was a compilation of vacations that we were naked on."

The head of the Montecito real estate company selling the land refused to comment when asked if Tommy has now bought the plot.

The Sun has contacted Tommy's rep for comment.
