The warden overseeing the Lower Manhattan jail where convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was found dead of apparent suicide Saturday has been reassigned pending an investigation, it was announced Tuesday.

Attorney General William Barr himself made the decision to reassign Metropolitan Correctional Center warden Lamine N’Diaye, according to a Justice Department spokesperson.

In addition to N’Diaye, the Bureau of Prisons has placed two MCC staffers who were assigned to Epstein’s unit on leave for the duration of the investigation, the department said.

FCI Otisville warden James Petrucci has been named acting warden of the MCC New York. Otisville, a medium-security lockup, is currently home to President Trump’s former fixer Michael Cohen and Fyre Fest fraudster Billy McFarland.

Epstein, who was facing sex trafficking charges, was found unresponsive in his cell early Saturday. He was later declared dead at a hospital.

Sources told The Post that Epstein hanged himself with a bedsheet, after being removed from suicide watch following another alleged attempt to take his own life.

He hadn’t been checked on for several hours.
