A wannabe porn star drowned in a luxury villa pool after auditioning for a part in an X-rated movie.

Police have launched an investigation following the death of the 20-year-old waiter on Sunday at a house in Mairena del Aljarafe near Seville, Spain.

He was found lying at the bottom of the pool after he asked the movie directors if he could take a dip while he waited for a friend to pick him up.

Police and paramedics were called after film technicians discovered he was not breathing when they pulled him out of the water.

Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The property is on a residential estate known as Simon Verde.

Local reports said there were no signs of violence and investigators believe he drowned after suffering a heart attack while he was in the pool.

They are awaiting the results of the autopsy and tests to see if he had consumed any drugs or alcohol before the porn shoot.
