A pair of thieves took a taxi for an hours-long joyride through Manhattan Sunday — before crashing into parked cars on the Upper East Side, police said Monday.
The unknown thieves boosted the yellow cab around 10 a.m. near Columbus Avenue and W. 90th Street on the Upper West Side — where the cabbie left the car unattended with the keys inside, cops said.
Police spotted the stolen cab at about 4:30 p.m. driving through East Harlem but the thieves refused to stop and the police lost sight of them after a brief chase, according to cops.
About a half-hour later, the cab smashed into several parked cars at E. 88th Street and Lexington Avenue and the thieves took off, police said.
Photos from the scene show a cab with significant front-end damage.
Cops are still looking for the thieves.
No one was injured in the crash.
