A “SPIDER granny" was rescued as she hung upside down from a fourth floor window after accidentally falling out.

Her survival was deemed a “miracle” after her ankle wedged between the side-opening window and a ledge, 50ft above ground.

The woman had been standing on the sill cleaning windows before losing her balance.

Firefighters pulled her back to safety after 15 minutes in Yetkul, Russia.

“She was like a spider granny hanging from the window,” said one report.

The local Emergencies Ministry said: “A school director in her office saw the woman hanging upside down out of the window.

'SUPER GRANNY'

“She called the head of the fire brigade, and they had to really wrack their brains on how to rescue her.”

The spokesman said: "She was conscious when the first fireman got to her.

“But from deep shock she couldn’t explain her flat number so they knew where to go to rescue her.

“She was in state of deep panic.

“While they were figuring out the flat number, one of the team members stayed (on the ladder) talking to her, saying that she would be all right.”

Meanwhile other rescuers held a blanket underneath in case she fell.

The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was treated in hospital.
