THIS is the horrifying moment a cyclist shoved an 83-year-old man to the ground after verbally abusing him.

The CCTV footage captures the moment the rider pedals past the pensioner before suddenly turning and doubling back.

Cops say he launched into a tirade of abuse – before suddenly punching out.

The elderly man is knocked backwards to the ground, while the cyclist staggers forward under the momentum of his violent shove.

Video shows the victim didn't have time to hold out his arms and brace himself.

Instead, he falls straight onto his side on the pavement.

Detectives investigating the assault in Hampshire market town Ringwood have released the footage in a bid to track down the vile thug responsible.

They say the victim was walking in Hightown Road, around a mile from the town centre, when the cyclist brushed past him.

FRIGHTENING ORDEAL

The rider then turned and abused him during the frightening ordeal, which happened at 6.35am on Monday, October 18.

The shove happened a moment later before the cyclist turned, got back on his bike and rode away, leaving the stricken OAP on the ground.

The victim was not seriously hurt.

Detectives from Hampshire police say they're searching for a man with dark hair shaved at the sides.

He was wearing a black backpack and had a white carrier bag on his bike.

Police say they believe he travels a similar route on a daily basis.

'RIDES THE SAME ROUTE DAILY'

The footage came to light days after a Good Samaritan was twice battered by an e-scooter rider who had allegedly just mown down a woman in her 60s at a pedestrian crossing.

Chaos unfolded in broad daylight in Camden, London last week.

The video shows a man holding an umbrella attempting to stop the scooter rider.

However, a split-second later, the bully on the little vehicle punches out, smashing the have-a-go hero in the face.

As the passer-by reels backwards and swings out with his umbrella, the camera pans back – and captures a lady lying face-down on the ground at a pedestrian crossing.

Members of the public can be seen rushing to help her.

The rider is captured on film getting off his scooter and advancing threateningly towards the man who tried to stop him.

He then hits out again – sending the man stumbling backwards and hitting a brick wall.
