A MUM has issued a warning to parents after a mystery couple tried to tempt her young son into the back of their van, she claims.

Jemma Goulding, took to Facebook, to voice her concern after ten-year-old Theo was left "shook up" after the encounter in the car park of North Kesteven School in North Hykeham, Lincs.

A man and a woman demanded the youngster get in their van at around 5pm on July 13.

The sinister duo were said to be driving a red van and targeted the little lad as he walked to footie training.

Fortunately quick thinking Theo ignored their advances and ran off but Jemma is warning all parents to be on the lookout.

Posting online, the mum-of-three, said: “Just to make everyone aware, Theo was walking into football training and a red combo van approached him.

"The man shouted at Theo trying to get him into the van. Luckily, Theo ran into football training but he’s very shook up.

“The school contacted police but there’s nothing they can do as the CCTV cameras are not adequate enough to search for the van. Please tell all your kids to be very careful wherever they are.”

She added to Lincolnshire Live: “I couldn’t quite believe what Theo had told me, especially how angrily he had been shouted at to get into the van.”

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police confirmed: "Officers are appealing for information after a suspicious incident was reported yesterday.

"At around 5pm, a man and woman asked a ten year old boy to get into their red van. This happened in the car park at North Kesteven Sports Centre.

"The boy was upset but unharmed by the incident."
