Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday announced new rules for baseball fans in New York — saying the Mets and Yankees can open sections of their stadiums at full capacity May 19, but only for those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Separate sections for unvaccinated baseball lovers at both Citi Field and Yankee Stadium will be restricted to 33 percent capacity with social distancing of 6 feet, the governor explained during a press briefing.

Additionally, the Mets and Yankees have teamed up with the state Department of Health so that attendees can get vaccinated at the stadium during games, Cuomo said.
