A knife rampage at a metro station in France has left one person dead and at least nine injured.
Two men – one armed with a knife and the other a kitchen spit – attacked several people in Villeurbanne, a suburb of Lyon.
Footage posted online shows hero witnesses detaining a man armed with a blade near an outdoor lift at the Laurent-Bonnevay station.
In the video, a passer-by attempts to restrain a man who is armed with a spit.
One man was arrested by police and a second was being hunted following the attack which unfolded just before 4.30pm local time on Saturday, according to reports.
Some of the victims were attacked as they waited for a bus.
There was no indication from the authorities that it was a terror attack.
Officials said one person, aged 19, was killed and nine were injured.
Of the nine survivors, three were in a serious condition.
