A 7-year-old girl dressed as a bumblebee for Halloween was reportedly shot in the chest while trick-or-treating in Chicago on Thursday night.

The youngster was collecting candy with a 31-year-old man when a group of men opened fire on the pair in the city’s Little Village neighborhood at about 5:30 p.m., according to The Chicago Tribune.

The girl was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Chicago police don’t believe she was the intended target, a spokesman said.

The man she was trick-or-treating with was hit in the hand and is in stable condition, the Tribune reported.

Witness Lali Lara told the newspaper the girl’s father screamed, “My little girl’s been shot!”

It’s unclear if the 31-year-old man was the girl’s father.

Lara said she aided the little girl until an ambulance arrived.

“I was pressing on her and calling her name,’’ she told The Tribune.

“She was looking at me, and I was calling her name. I have kids — I would go crazy if something happened to my kids.”

Police are investigating and there were no immediate arrests.
