WILDLIFE expert Michaela Strachan has been on our TV screens since the 80s.
The presenter is most often seen hosting Springwatch and its winter variant.
Who is Michaela Strachan?
Michaela Strachan is an English television presenter born on April 7, 1966.
She was born in Epsom, Surrey, and grew up in Hinchley Wood.
Before her many roles on national television, Strachan performed in theatre.
She has also had a brief music career under the stage name Michaela.
Michaela released two singles – a cover and an original song – which both had chart success, reaching the UK Top 100 Charts.
Her song Take Good Care of my Heart reached number 66 on the charts in 1990.
In October 2014, she revealed that she had a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery following a diagnosis of breast cancer.
As of 2019, she revealed that she was now cancer free.
The band Scouting for Girls dedicated a song to the wildlife expert called Michaela Strachan You Broke My Heart (When I Was 12).
This appeared as a hidden track on their 2007 debut album at the end of the song I Wish I Was James Bond.

What TV shows has Michaela Strachan been on?
She has had a glittering career as a presenter working mostly on nature programs.
Before Springwatch, Michaela hosted Boogie Box in 1988 and The Hitman and Her between 1988 and 1992.
Alongside these in the 80s, she presented Wide Awake Club and appeared on Good Morning Britain.
Up until 2009, Strachan was a regular reporter for BBC One show, Countryfile.

The presenter moved to Cape Town, South Africa, after she was unable to return to the UK because of the coronavirus lockdown.
While she has relocated with her family, Michaela will return to host the nature show again in 2022.
Is Michaela Strachan married and does she have children?
Michaela married filmmaker Duncan Chard in 1996, but they divorced five years later in 2001.
The pair did not have any children together.
A friend introduced her to future long term partner Nick Chevallier in 2003.
She gave birth to her son Oliver on June 8, 2005, who she had with director and cameraman Nick.

The family now live in Cape Town with Ollie and Nick's three children from a previous relationship.
Michaela told The Mirror she thought the secret to a happy relationship was to not get married.
