EMMA SIDI has landed a plum Christmas 2022 role.

The actress is seen taking on the part of a top BBC journalist. Here's what we know about her life and career.

Who is Emma Sidi?

Emma Sidi is a comedian, actress and writer.

She is the daughter of former rugby player Paul Sidi, who now works as a chartered physiotherapist.

She was part of the Cambridge University Footlights, and is most commonly seen in BBC Three and Channel 4 sitcoms.

Emma has also starred in her own short film, La Princesa de Woking – a Spanish language telenovela set in Surrey.

Emma played Anne in BBC's King Gary, Eleanor in Ghosts and Kate in Starstruck.

She also played Esme in Stath Lets Flats.

In 2022, she was part of the cast on Channel 4 series Don't Hug Me I'm Scared.

In December 2022, Emma was cast as broadcaster Emily Maitlis in Prince Andrew: The Musical.

As the show aired, Emma shared a snap of the cast on Instagram with the words: "I don’t usually post press photos of shows, but tbh: I’m Emily Maitlis and I really wanna put it on me grid !!!"

Talking of Kieran Hodgson’s Christmas comedy special, Emma told The Independent: “When I first got the offer, my initial thought was ‘This is quite a controversial topic’."

She added: “There were moments when you’re laughing and then you actually gasp a little bit.

“There’s no messing around with that tone.”

Emma added that as a character comedian, she was fascinated by Prince Andrew's interview with Maitlis, describing it as “comedy at its finest”.

Is Emma Sidi married?

No, Emma is not believed to be married.

In fact she is reported as living with her Starstruck co-star, comedian Rose Matafeo.

In season two of the comedy Emma had a sex scene with her real-life boyfriend Al Roberts.

Emma told The Metro: "We have a little sex scene, which was a really interesting moment when it’s your own partner and you’re like, this is fine, this isn’t weird, and then on the day I was like, 'I am terrified!'

"We did even have an intimacy coordinator.

"I remember thinking hang on, we know what we’re doing, but actually it was such a saving grace because we don’t actually have sitcom sex usually."
