Virgin River: Alexandra Breckenridge stars in season two teaser

While Virgin River season three has not yet been officially confirmed by Netflix, fans have already begun speculating about what will happen next. One thing viewers are desperate to know is what will happen to Charmaine Roberts (Lauren Hammersley) and her pregnancy as the show continues. Here’s what some fans have to say about this.

Will Charmaine die in Virgin River season 3?

One of the biggest storylines fans have been following in Virgin River revolves around Jack Sheridan’s (Martin Henderson) and Charmaine’s pregnancy.

At the end of the first outing, it was revealed she was pregnant with her ex-boyfriend’s baby.

Then in season two, viewers watched as she struggled with some pregnancy complications.

She was diagnosed with hyperemesis before it was revealed she was actually expecting twins.

As the series continued, Charmaine recovered and everything was looking good for the pregnancy.

However, some fans are still wondering whether she might still be in danger.

A popular theory on Reddit suggests Charmaine may die in the third season of the show.

This seems to mainly stem from the fact viewers cannot work out how Jack and Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) will be able to pursue their romance if not.

User Gortallini speculated: “I thought Charmaine might die in childbirth and leave Mel and Jack to raise the babies as their own.”

VirtuousRen agreed, adding: “This is a great theory, so much mentioned in season one of the possibility of a surrogate being used for Mel…

“And Doc and Mel have stated its a high-risk pregnancy, even higher with twins.”

A third named n00bf0dd3r wrote: “I was thinking they would have Charmaine die during childbirth with all the hints of high risk and her fear of hospitals.”

However, some fans think there may be another storyline on the cards for Charmaine.

User KateFillion44 wrote: “I think it’s possible Charmaine shot Jack and will be in jail and Mel and Jack will raise the twins in the house he bought.”

While another named IlaDC theorised: “I hope those kids aren’t Jack’s and we can forget all about Charmaine and the twins soon.

“I hope Mel and Jack have their own kids once they are ready.”

A third option may be Charmaine stands true to her threat in the finale and moves away from Virgin River.

Earlier in the series, she revealed how her aunt had offered for her to move in with her in Portland.

Then in the finale, she warned Jack how if she remarried, he would not be able to see his children again.

There are plenty of ways this could go in the next season of the hit series but it seems like fans will just have to wait and see.
