THE Bay has proved to be a HUGE hit for ITV since the first series back in 2017.
The Morecambe-based drama is now back for a third season and there is a new woman in charge.

The Bay season three brings the audience a brand new story.
DS Jenn Townsend is new in town but is immediately thrown into the deep end, when a body is found in the bay on her first day in the job.
She must get under the skin of a grieving and complicated family if she has any chance of solving the premature death of an aspiring young boxer.

Following leading lady Morven Christie's exit from the show, ITV confirmed actress Marsha Thomason has been cast as the new lead.
Marsha will play the role of DS Jenn Townsend, Morecambe CID's new Family Liaison Officer in series three.
Marsha is atelevision and film actress who is best known for playing Sara Evers and Elizabeth Henshaw in Disney's The Haunted Mansion and Nessa Holt in the first two seasons of the NBC series Las Vegas.

Daniel Ryan as DI Tony Manning
In 1997 Daniel landed his first recurring role on Trial & Retribution but has since gone on to star in a string of hit shows such as Mount Pleasant and Innocent.
He's also known for his work in Doctor Who, Casualty and Home Fires.
The actor, who stars as Jenn's boss in The Bay, has also been in movies Black Sea and Lipstick On Your Collar.
Erin Shanagher as DS Karen Hobson
Karen, who we met in season one, had a promotion to DS in season two.
She is warm, supportive, and has a quick sense of humour as well as a keen sense of justice.
Actress Erin who plays her is known for TV shows including Dark Money, Doctors, Peaky Blinders, The A Word, The Five, The Moorside, and Hit & Miss.
Thomas Law as DC Eddie Martin
Eddie was the newest member of the team in season two.
His character is described as young, keen and enthusiastic, who often finds his job a struggle.
Actor Tom started his career as Peter Beale in EastEnders, and also as Young Gary in The World’s End.
Andrew Dowbiggin as DS Jamie 'Clarkie' Clarke
The character of Clarkie is seen as a loud-mouthed member of the team who sometimes takes jokes too far.
Before starring in The Bay, actor Andrew was known for his work on soaps.
His credits includeplaying Anton Bluth in Emmerdale and Coronation Street's Toby Chapman.

When will The Bay on ITV start?
Just like the first two seasons, the third series will air on ITV and the ITV Hub.
The first episode of The Bay airs TONIGHT (January 12, 2022) at 9pm on ITV.
Speaking about the new series, ITV’s Head of Drama, Polly Hill said: “We are delighted with the audience's response to The Bay.
"We look forward to them meeting DS Jenn Townsend played by the fantastic Marsha Thomason, who joins the team in series 3.”
