In most episodes of The Bachelorette the star hands out roses to men she wants to continue to get to know. The last rose also suspiciously go to people that have to make you wonder are producers setting this up? They are and this is why producers pick certain men to get the last roses in the ceremony.
The rose ceremony takes a lot longer than we see
The rose ceremony is a small part of the episode, but it takes a lot longer to shoot. Sean Lowe, who starred in Season 8 of The Bachelor, revealed why in an interview.
“It is absolutely exhausting,” Lowe told Glamour. “On TV, what you see is I hand out a rose, the girl comes forward and accepts it, and then I hand out another rose. In reality, there’s about three to five minutes in between each rose because all 15 cameras have to reposition. That first night lasts until about 7 A.M., and then each one after that lasts until about 3 or 4.”
Chris Harrison also talked about how the whole thing is shot. “Everyone’s nervous at their first rose ceremony, so we make it real easy for them, and we break [shooting] up into three to five people at a time,” Chris Harrison said according to The Ashley. “Then we’ll stop, just to make sure we don’t run into any mistakes. We don’t want a [microphone] in his ear, we don’t want cue cards, we want it as natural as possible.”

The rose ceremonies also might feel like they take long to reveal who is getting that last dramatic rose. That’s because stakes only rise as the ceremony continues on purpose.
Producers put the more obvious contestants first and the less likely ones at the end. Lowe revealed this in his book, For the Right Reasons.
DeAnna Stagliano, who was the star of Season 4 of The Bachelorette, also tweeted about the producers having a say over the order of the rose ceremony. There is one perk to having producers control the rose ceremony.
Producers are also there to help the star remember names
The good thing about producers meddling in the ceremonies is that they help keep names straight when the cast is still huge. After all, it’s almost impossible to remember 30 strangers’ names after a few hours.
“Throughout the night a producer is never far from your side and constantly reminds you about everyone’s name,” Ali Fedotowsky, who starred in Season 6 of the show, revealed in a blog. “She (the producer) has flashcards with the pictures and names of every contestant. It is hard to remember everyone, even with the flash cards. It’s all so overwhelming. the Bachelor/ette goes into the rose ceremony room and says a few names at a time and then leaves to get the next few names.”
So that explains why the men who were involved in drama tend to get the last roses in the rose ceremony. Producers want that last rose to be climatic for the audience.
