Carl Radke from Summer House revealed he reached 90 days sober during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

Host Andy Cohen offered his condolences over the loss of his brother during the summer. Radke’s brother Curtis died after a longtime battle with drug addiction. Radke shared last year that he planned to stop drinking in light of his behavior on the show. While he certainly curbed his drinking, he had a few stressful moments on the show where he drank to excess and then regretted it the next day.

Radke told Cohen that his family has come together since his brother’s death. “It’s connected with a lot of people out there,” he said. “I never thought I’d live it out on Bravo. But the support I’ve had and my friends and everybody coming together has been amazing. And I hope everybody knows you’re not alone. There is help out there.”

He then shared where he was with his own sobriety. “I’m 90 days sober today, actually,” he said while smiling. “I’m really happy about that. My brother really never stuck to a program and it’s something I needed to do. And I’m really proud of myself for doing that. So I’m feeling great and I’m happy to be here.”

The WWHL crowd went wild when Radke shared he was sober. Plus, his Summer House friends tweeted their support. “I’m proud of you [Carl Radke],” Luke Gulbranson tweeted. Kyle Cooke wrote, “90 days sober — so proud of you Carl!”

Carl Radke chose sobriety after the last season of ‘Summer House’

Radke’s decision to stop drinking came after he watched the last season of Summer House. “You kind of forget about the cameras to some degree, I think,” he said on an Instagram Live session of Spilling the QuaranTea in April 2020. “Part of what I struggle with, and it’s very clear this season, what’s hard to watch … my alcohol intake.”

“I had a rough summer, had some relationships kind of fall through romantically. I think some of my behavior obviously helped that along,” he continued. “Also professionally I had some stuff that went on that doesn’t really get shown. So I hit the bottle; it’s been hard to watch, so I’m trying to make right, over the last few months. I’ve actually been sober.” This season, Cooke shared Radke showed up extremely drunk for a business meeting and was happy he was now sober.

Radke realized drinking, especially on camera was doing him no favors.  “A lot of us think we’re funnier or we’re cooler when we’ve had a few drinks,” Radke said. “But with me no, it’s typically I get angry and make bad decisions. So everybody listening or watching, Carl’s making better choices. I’m a human being, I make mistakes, but it’s been a rough season, a little bit, for me.”
