Strictly Come Dancing contestant Mike Bushell was saved from elimination at the weekend when he faced the dreaded dance off against Catherine Tyldesley. After impressing Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood enough to be voted through to week seven, Mike and professional dance partner Katya Jones reflected on their performance when they visited Rylan Clark-Neal in the It Takes Two studio tonight. During their conversation, Katya let slip a costume secret.

Rylan was keen to address some of the comments made by the judges on Saturday night.

He said: “Craig did pick up on a few things, he picked up on the posture, the bottom out, the shoulders raised.

“Are they “problems” you knew were happening?”

“Things we work on from week one and since American Smooth we did in Ballroom frame, how much better did that get already?” Kayta defended.

“There are limits again and priorities I have to take within the training week and I really wanted to get the footwork correct and really be on time and be sure – I didn’t want him to doubt himself because this is when things fall apart a bit.

“So of course we can only do as much as we can.

“Sometimes you just have to forget about that and get the footwork right and I think that showed in the footwork!” She continued.

“Motsi was a real happy bunny for want of a better term – she said, I think it’s quite high praise, she saw the Tango in there!” Rylan continued.

Mike replied: “Yes and Shirley said some nice things about the footwork!

“And actually, the dance off, I thought about what Craig had said and I did try and tuck my bottom in and keep my frame better.”

Katya then interjected and revealed: “Did you notice we didn’t have a bunny tail? Because I didn’t want to exaggerate that!”

“It would’ve made the bottom stick out even more! Draw attention to the derriere with a tail,” Mike added.

Will he be able to impress the judges and viewers alike and make it through to week eight?

According to the latest odds from Ladbrokes, Mike is the contestant who is least likely to get the perfect score.

With odds at 200/1, his chance of seeing the first four tens is low.
