Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) is a woman on a mission in Emmerdale, as — following the brutal attack on beau Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) — she confronts evil DI Malone (Mark Womack), but how far will she go in order to protect her family?
Harriet has grown increasingly worried about Will in recent weeks, as he’s become more and more anxious. Viewers know full well his anxiety is a result of Malone’s presence in the village, but the vicar has remained none-the-wiser.
However, Will returned home after being brutally assaulted earlier this week and — left in a bad way — Harriet demands answers from him. She discovers the truth about Malone, and therefore — in the coming episodes — she confronts the dodgy copper.
Harriet is fuming with Malone, but he attempts to put her mind at ease by telling her that he’s finished his dealings with Will, Billy (Jay Konztle) and Cain (Jeff Hordley).
However, Harriet has reason to doubt his honesty, and therefore she decides to call the police in an effort to grass on him — that is, until he promises to stay away from Will.
In an effort to protect her family, Harriet has some harsh words for Will, and — later — she encounters Malone once more, and it comes to light that there’s more between these two than meets the eye.
In spite of their past, Harriet knows full well what Malone is capable of, and therefore she’ll no doubt be torn over what to for the better.

With her having already considering grassing Malone up once, will the thought of doing so continue to recur in her mind?
Will she put the dodgy detective behind bars and thus allow she, Will — and the rest of the village — to move on with their lives?
