Sid Sumner (Billy Price) and Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw) face death once more in Hollyoaks at the hands of former boss Victor Brothers (Benjamin O’Mahoney), who uses his mother’s funeral as an opportunity to stage an escape.
Victor, as viewers will recall, is the primary antagonist of the acclaimed County Lines storyline, who rocked up back in June 2020 to have a word with foot soldier Jordan Price (Connor Calland).
The drug lord, however, liked what he saw and thus decided to stick around, grooming a number of the eponymous village’s youths.
Sid, having had enough of his treachery, decided to fight back, and devised a plan to acquire evidence to prove that Victor had groomed Juliet, who was serving a prison sentence at the time.
Victor, however, found out what he was up to and retaliated, stabbing Sid, who seemingly died.
Ollie Morgan (Gabriel Clark), meanwhile, carried on with the mission, and with some assistance from James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) and Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), he ultimately succeeded in bringing Victor down.
Sid returned ‘from the dead’, and was hailed a hero for stopping Victor and getting Juliet freed from prison.
Given all that he went through at the villain’s hands, it’s no wonder that Sid is left terrified when Victor makes contact this week, and despite Juliet’s best efforts to prevent him from doing so, he ultimately pays him a visit in prison.
Victor, however, is a shell of his former self, promising Sid that he’s a changed man since his mum tragically passed away.
He asks Sid to accompany him to his mother’s funeral as a way to show all the others in attendance that he’s turned over a new leaf.
Sid believes that Victor has repented for his sins, and – relating to what it’s like to lose a parent – he agrees to do as he asks.
Juliet, meanwhile, is appalled to hear of Victor’s request, and warns Sid to keep the criminal at arm’s length during the service. Sid, however, is quick to reassure her that there will be security all over the place, and thus Victor wouldn’t dream of trying anything.
Little does he know, however, that Victor is actually plotting his escape, as he makes a sinister call from prison.
The day of the funeral arrives and Sid stays true to his word, accompanying Victor to the service. Juliet, meanwhile, spills all to Ste, and with doubts niggling away at her, she decides to go and check on her best friend.
Unfortunately, her worst fears come true as Victor’s true colours are revealed after the funeral, as his escape plan is set in motion and poor Sid is taken captive!
Juliet meanwhile, walks straight into danger, and the two teens find themselves as Victor’s mercy once more.
Victor relishes in being back in control, and he’s keen for history to repeat itself as he forces Sid back into the world of drug-dealing, reassuring him that if he fails his mission, Juliet will die!
Will Sid do as he’s told and sell the drugs in a bid to protect Juliet?
Or will he perhaps fight back in a bid to protect his pal? Either way, will he and Juliet make it out of this situation alive?
Or will Victor finish what he started last year and murder them both?
You’ll just have to tune in to find out!
