RICHARD Bacon has appeared to suggest he wasn’t told Good Morning Britain is cancelled next week – despite being signed up to host the show.
He shared a news report based on The Sun's exclusive story that ITV bosses have pulled flagship show between Christmas and New Year amid Covid fears.
Richard wrote: "So I guess that means I won't be presenting Good Morning Britain next week (as planned).
"Shame but makes complete and total sense.
"Hosting this week. -unless I get Covid between now and Wednesday – although at this rate we'll all have it by then."
Shows scheduled for the mid-festive period will now be pulled entirely and replaced with another show, while the edition on Christmas Day has already been pre-recorded.
It is the first time in history the morning news show has been ditched from the schedules.
But the final pre-Christmas shows WILL go ahead.
But the presenters have been asked to do their own make-up and nobody else will be allowed in the studio.
A spokeswoman confirmed: “There is a special GMB Christmas Day show which airs from 7-9am.
“GMB was due to be on air from Weds 29th – Fri 31st December 2021 but due to the pandemic and to protect our teams, we have decided to give them an extended break.
“GMB will not broadcast next week, but will be back on air on Tues 4th Jan 2022.”
Good Morning Britain has been fronted by Susanna Reid, Charlotte Hawkins, Ranvir Singh and a series of guest presenters since Piers Morgan walked out amid a row with weather presenter Alex Beresford.
