The controversial journalist and presenter who usually sits next to Susanna Reid on ITV’s Good Morning Britain was not present on the show earlier today (Wednesday, October 30). This left fans questioning whether he has left the news programme for good. So what has happened to Piers Morgan?
Where is Piers Morgan?
Piers took to Twitter to announce he was taking some time away from the show.
Viewers were left unimpressed with the presenter as he ranted about gender live on air last month.
Morgan responded to a tweet claiming he had been “taken off air” because of his comments.
In the post, he replied: “When you say ‘taken off air’, I think you mean ‘has taken himself off air to go lie under a palm tree n Beverly Hills’.”
There is a Change.org petition calling for the presenter to be fired following his comments on transgender people.
The petition, which now has around 23,0000 signatures, then got GMB to launch a poll asking followers whether he should be taken off the show.
Around half a million people voted and 60 percent said they wanted to get rid of him.
But will the divisive star be returning to the show?

Best time for a Brit to hit the beach in LA is when the temperature plummets to 70 degrees & a few clouds appear. Then all the locals run inside before they freeze to death.

The answer is yes, Piers has not been fired from GMB.
His holiday was most likely planned months in advance so it’s simply a coincidence it came at a time when viewers were asking for his removal.
Morgan will be back on the desk following three weeks off so is going to be returning around November 11.
Until he does join fellow presenter Susanna Reid, Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway will be keeping her company on the show.
Good Morning Britain continues every weekday morning on ITV.
