PIERS Morgan has hinted he could quit Good Morning Britain in January after four years.

The 54-year-old discussed his upcoming work anniversary with co-host Susanna Reid on today's show.

Referring to the fact he worked with Amanda Holden on Britain's Got Talent for longer than he currently has with Susanna, 48, he said: "I worked with Amanda for four years on Britain's Got Talent, I haven't quite done four years with you.

"It's in November, so Amanda has actually put more yards in than you have."

Susanna replied: "November is our four year anniversary isn't it? Do you think you'll still be here in November?"

With a smirk, Piers said: "I'll be here in November….January? Hmmm."

Joking along, Susanna replied, who started working with Piers in 2015: "Are you renegotiating your dressing room again?"

Piers said: "Contracts are contracts, I might get transferred.

"Mega bucks, to Australia, Good Morning Australia, Good Morning Germany. Good Morning Shanghai…

"If the money's good enough, [I'm off]."

The tongue-in-cheek comments come after Susanna gave a new interview where she admitted to confiding in "pain in the bum" Piers.

Susanna said she trusts her co-host not to air her personal secrets – despite his constant "teasing".

She told The Mirror: "Piers is a complete wind up and a total pain in the backside.

"He constantly teases me and says I protest too much when people joke that we’re an old married couple."

Susanna added: “At the same time I also trust Piers with lots of secrets and personal stuff and I know that’s not going to appear on air.

"It’s just banter – as they’d say on Love Island.”
