This Morning’s Phillip Schofield has revealed how Bros brothers Matt and Luke Goss almost got him arrested during their heyday.

The 57-year-old presenter, who was embroiled in a public spat with Amanda Holden last week, dropped the bombshell admission as the singers joined him and Holly Willoughby on the sofa for today’s show.

‘You nearly got me arrested at Radio 1,’ Phillip recalled. ‘You blocked the street, the whole street came to a complete standstill and I went out and the Radio 1 team said, “You’ve got to go out and try and calm them down, they’ll only listen to you.”

‘I went out and a policeman went, “You, in. If you don’t come now, I’m going to arrest you.’

Matt then remembered he had a run in with the law as well.

He said: ‘The funny thing is, I almost got arrested for trying to get home. There was a big van and they said, “You’re trying to incite a riot.”

‘I said, “I’m not actually inciting a riot I’m actually just going home, this is where I live.”‘

Holly chimed: ‘It’s a level of fame you just can’t understand now, isn’t it? It was just crazy.’

Last week, Matt announced that he’d written the lyrics for a musical version of Upstairs Downstairs and described the process as ‘one of the most cerebral projects of his life.’

The news comes just weeks after reports the brothers have signed up to make another BBC documentary after the success that was Bros: After The Screaming Stops.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
