Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) is filled with rage in upcoming Emmerdale scenes, when Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) proves just how good she is with baby Theo.

Next week, David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) tasks Meena with looking after Theo, but it soon becomes apparent that she’s struggling.

In this clip from next Thursday’s (August 19) first episode, the killer wheels the pram back into the shop, and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) is quick to point out her lack of experience.

Theo begins to cry amid the showdown, prompting Meena to speculate that he’ll stop soon. David, however, enters, and he’s not pleased to see the toddler in such a state.

Victoria, meanwhile, heads to the shop. She sets her sights upon upset Theo, and proceeds to comfort him. Within seconds, the child stops crying, much to Meena’s frustration.

‘She didn’t have to interfere!’, exclaims Meena to David, ‘I could’ve done that!’.

Victoria, desperate to help, suggests that they switch roles, arguing it would be better if she looked after Theo, while Meena assisted David in the shop.

David agrees, leaving Meena horrified. It becomes apparent that she’s intent on getting revenge on Victoria, and later in the week, she kidnaps Theo in order to teach her a lesson!

Explaining the shocking scenes to come, actress Paige Sandhu, who plays murderous Meena, told Metro.co.uk: ‘She’s trying to get Victoria out of the way by manipulating David to let her look after Theo but when that mucks up she decides kidnapping Theo – and blaming Victoria – would be a good way to split them up, and have David never trust her again. It’s spontaneous.’

We know that Meena is a killer, and that she’s pretty much void of human emotion, but would she really be capable of killing a child?

‘Yes, she would,’ said Paige. ‘Meena has no empathy whatsoever she doesn’t care. She can’t.

‘The way I played that scene was that Meena deliberated between kidnapping and killing.

Emmerdale airs these scenes Thursday August 19 at 7pm on ITV.
