NCIS Hawaii is the newest police procedural drama within the popular NCIS franchise on CBS. The new show is set to debut in the 2021-22 television season and fans should be delighted to hear about the latest filming update as production continues on Pearl Harbour.

Fans of the NCIS franchise were excited for the announcement of a new spin-off series called NCIS Hawaii.

Star Vanessa Lachey is currently filming in Pearl Harbour with showrunner and director Larry Teng.

Teng offered fans a small glimpse behind the scenes recently as the team are currently filming for episode four.

After previously posting a video on Instagram where the crew were filming a tense underwater scene, Teng has now offered some more updates.

The showrunner captioned a photo of the cast arm in arm with the stunning Hawaiian night sky behind them with Teng holding a clapperboard, clearly celebrating a successful day of filming.

He offered this update: “After 22 days of filming, I can officially say that the pilot and episode 102 for @ncishawaiicbs is wrapped.

“I feel so lucky to collaborate with this amazing cast, this amazing group of producers, and more than anything, this amazing crew.

“They have held me up, worked long hours, and devoted their time, sweat and talents for this maiden voyage.”

Teng continued: “It’s been an unforgettable experience. Mahalo for allowing me to be a part of this incredible ohana.”

He later posted another photo on-set alongside actors Lachey and Alex Tarrant.

He said: “From last weeks shoot at #PearlHarbor with these two gems @aggytarrant and @vanessalachey. #NCISHAWAII.”

Tarrant is the latest cast member to join the series as the lead opposite Lachey.

The actor will portray Kai, an NCIS agent and local resident, who will be an ally to Lachey’s Jane Tennant.

Deadline described the character as a “charming local” who will have the unique ability to blend into his surroundings in Hawaii and will aid in the investigation of high-stakes crimes.

According to the publication, Kai will enter the series after returning home to the island to care for his ill father.

Tarrant’s casting announcement comes alongside the news that Agent Carter star Enver Gjokaj will be joining the drama as Captain Joe Milius.

According to Variety, Milius will be introduced to Jane and her team following an explosive aircraft crash.

Jane will then take the lead on the crash investigation and she looks set to butt heads with Milius over the difficult outcome of the crash.

She will have a lot to contend with and, despite dealing with Milius, Kai will face personal struggles, which could impact the team.

NCIS Hawaii will follow a new investigative team of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, named the NCIS: Pearl.

Lachey’s character will be the first female Special Agent in charge of the new law enforcement agency.

The show is created by Christopher Silber, Jan Nash, and Matt Bosack.

NCIS Hawaii is scheduled to be released later this year on CBS.
