Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt present BBC Breakfast on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. However, on Friday morning, Naga was forced to leave the sofa mid-show as she struggled to speak. Charlie went on to host the show on his own.

Just 20 minutes into the show, Naga was missing from the sofa.

Charlie explained: “You may have noticed this morning that Naga has just stepped away from the sofa.

“This morning [she has] a slight struggle in her voice.”

“We’ll see how that works out,” he added before continuing on with the show.

Before she left, BBC Breakfast viewers had noticed Naga struggling.

“Somebody give Naga a Strepsil,”@Grommy15 wrote.

@SheilaCaffrey01 tweeted: “Oooh Naga you poor thing. Hope your lovely voice recovers soon #BBCBreakfast.”

@Siege_Perilous added: “Oh dear…yesterday it was Charley Stayt with a cough and today @TVNaga01 sounds like she’s just smoked 50 cigarettes…Charley now flying solo on @BBCBreakfast..hope Naga feeling better soon.”

@tonywilmot56 remarked: “Hope Naga is OK#BBCBreakfast.”
