Fans of The Masked Singer have been guessing who exactly is behind the amazing costumes each week on the ITV competition. One character who has left viewers increasingly confused as the weeks go on is Hedgehog – but has a new Express.co.uk poll revealed who he is?

Who is Hedgehog on The Masked Singer?

The Masked Singer will air its semi-final tonight on ITV at 7pm as two more characters are unmasked.

One of the few characters who has been keeping viewers stumped is the Hedgehog.

He made his debut with a performance of Black Magic by Little Mix in the show’s first week and has since tackled Take That, Oasis and Meat Loaf.

Along with his performances, he has also been dropping a number of hints about his identity on the show.

This included how he had a job where he died every night at 8.30pm, which led viewers to guess he was a stage actor.

This was also confirmed by a number of references to musicals including Phantom of the Opera and Hairspray.

In a recent Express.co.uk poll, 1,320 viewers waded in on who they thought was behind the mask.

Viewers were left divided over who it could possibly be but it was Michael Ball who came out on top.

The actor and singer received 35 percent of the votes with 466 votes in total.

British comedian Jason Manford came in second place in the poll with 352 votes.

Rhydian Roberts and Alfie Boe were tied at 216 votes each while only 70 people thought it could be Wes Nelson.

Viewers have been convinced the Hedgehog is Michael Ball as the character has been dropping a few hints about this.

In his first week, he told the judges he was excited to “have a ball” on the show.

Viewers made the connection after they drew links with the fact he had appeared in a number of stage musicals like Les Misérables.

As well as this, he is currently playing Edna Turnblad in Hairspray in London.

The singer also recently appeared on Good Morning Britain alongside Alfie Boe where he dodged questions about his identity.

When they were introduced, Susanna Reid asked: “But is one of them the Hedgehog?”

However, when it came to it, they both managed to avoid the question, which left viewers wondering if it was one of them.
