The hunk discussed opening his own gym and being “fitter than ever”, as well as his desire to bring the show back  but viewers didn’t exactly get behind him

During the segment on Lorraine Kelly, the former well-loved baddie spoke went into detail about his new business venture in New Zealand, where he now lives.

While Wolf (real name Michael Van Wijk) spoke of his enthusiasm for bringing the 90s cult show back, stating that he “could do every single game blindfolded,” his appearance caused a stir on Twitter, with one viewer reacting with: “Blimey. Time not done you well Wolfie”.

With a clean, shaved head and gaunt face, the 66-year-old left many fans missing his iconic lustrous locks.

Another cruel tweeter jibed: “He’s a Shadow of his former self.

Host Christine Lampard also had a surprise in store for both fans and Wolf, as she played a clip from his old foe, Gladiators referee John Anderson – although luckily there was no whistling involved.

During the clip Anderson called Wolf the “bane of my life” but, in a touching moment, expressed how they had always been friends.

Some viewers were shocked by the contribution from the Scottish former ref, who even twenty years ago had distinctive white hair, with one noting: “I thought John Anderson would have been in his 90s by now!”

Since finishing on the show, of which he never missed a single episode, Wolf has moved halfway across the world and gotten into “the best shape” of his life, with images of his ripping muscles filling the screen behind him and videos of him working out.

One thing that became apparent to viewers is that Wolf wants to bring Gladiators back, but lots of people have questioned his motivations.

A tweeter mocked him by saying: “Bring Gladiators back I need the money”.

Another asked: “Have I missed Wolf?? What’s he up to nowadays? Is he doing pantos? Reviving Gladiators?” alluding to the fact that he hasn’t had much success since the show ended.

As the interview wrapped up, viewers were left confused by what had taken place and its point, with one asking: “Did I miss what the actual point of that interview was?”

Another added: “What is the point of this Wolf interview?”

Well, one thing’s for certain, he definitely wants to be Wolf again.

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 8:30am.
