Irish actor Adrian Dunbar has been part of the Line of Duty cast since the series began in 2012.
Dunbar takes on the role of SuperintedentTed Hastings, the current commanding officer of the anti-corruption unit, AC-12.

Dunbar added: “They’ve taken on a life of their own, haven’t they, they’ve become kind of bingo games, drinking games, you can do all kinds of things with the ‘fellas’ and the ‘Oh Mother of Gods’ and all that sort of stuff.”
He also revealed who inspires some of Hastings famous sayings.
Dunbar said: “The mother of gods, they kind of come from my dad, I keep telling people he used to say this all the time.
“So it’s kind of a little kind of nod towards him, to those things.”
He continued: “They are all quite kind of grounded. They’re all well located and they are all things that could actually Ted could say.
“In fact, the police always say that they always know somebody like Ted, whether he’s originally from Edinburgh or Cardiff but there’s always someone in the police force that kind of has it is a bit of a Ted and kind of comes out with the something.”
At the end of season five, Ted Hasting’s was still being considered as one of the main suspects in solving the identity of ‘H’.
Line of Duty fans will remember ‘H’ was a clue to solve the identity of the corrupt officer.
He also found himself under investigation after Gill Biggeloe (Polly Walker) attempted to frame Ted as one of the corrupt officers.

In the end, he as found guilty of discreditable conduct for unauthorised undercover operations and is given a final written warning.
For now, it seems like Hastings is still in the role but this could be called into questions depending on the events of season six.
Line of Duty fans have been sharing their theories online about Hastings potentially being H.
One fan posted on Reddit: “It would certainly make a superb twist. He’s a Mason, he has the perfect role to manipulate the bent coppers, he would have the means to influence without getting his hands dirty.
“Means: he has information at his disposal that most police do not.
“Opportunity: he can operate under the radar without raising suspicion, it’s his job.
“Motive: he lost a lot of money and is keen to get his wife back. Another twist could be that he didn’t lose money at all, but it’s a ploy to hide the money he’s made from illegal activity.”
A second fan, user medgar633 posted: “Maybe this has been mentioned but I haven’t seen it anywhere. I’ve been rewatching season 2 and in episode two Lindsay (played by Keeley Hawes) reveals that Ted is in serious financial difficulty. I think this could’ve been when Ted was approached and became corrupt, just food for thought, anyone else think this is viable?”
A third fan added: “I like Hastings but no one is perfect and I think he has some skeletons in the closet, and those skeletons won’t stay hidden for long.”
